Ed Herman stepped into the Strikeforce arena to take on former champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza for the promotion's final event. It was not the result that Ed was looking for when he tapped in the first round to a Kimura. But Herman deserves credit for taking a fight that many other UFC fighters declined. After two rounds fighting from the bottom, Ed kept the fight standing in the third round and bullied the visibly tired Shields. But after a tough three rounds Herman fell short on the judges' scorecards.

Ed Herman and Tim Credeur Face Off at Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale

It's a battle between two Denaro middleweights, as Ed "Short Fuse" Herman makes his return to the Octagon against Tim "Crazy" Credeur. The two are scheduled to face off at the Team Lesnar vs. Team Dos Santos Finale, which will take place on June 4th at the Palms Casino Resort.

Herman, 19-7, is coming off a loss due to an injury sustained during his fight against Aaron Simpson, in which he collapsed in pain during the second round when his knee was badly hurt.

Credeur, 13-5, lost his last bout against Nate Quarry at UFC Fight Night 19 and has not fought since September 2009.

Herman Suffers Knee Injury at UFC 102

Ed Herman had a tough night in front of his home town fans at UFC 102 on Saturday night. He suffered a knee injury during a hard fought first round against Aaron Simpson and barely made it back to his corner at the end. The always tough Herman refused to quit and answered the bell for the second round but it was immediately obvious that his injury would not let him continue. Ed will heal up and get his knee ready for a return as soon as possible.

Ed Herman was booed by the Canadian fans as he entered the octagon to meet hometown hero David Loiseau at UFC 97. It was a rude welcome and Ed proceeded to show his displeasure by mauling his opponent for three rounds to the dismay of the fans in attendance. Herman absolutely dominated Loiseau from beginning to end and hushed the hostile audience in the process. It was a great victory for Herman and pushed him back into the middleweight mix!

Herman finished the fight on top of Belcher, reigning down punches and some fans thought that was enough to ensure the decision victory. Herman will be back in the win column next time.

Herman Stumbles Against Maia

Ed 'Short Fuse' Herman spent the better part of two rounds valiantly defending the jiu jitsu onslaught of Demian Maia before succumbing to a triangle choke at the 2:27 mark. Maia was able to secure takedowns and keep Herman off balance in the first round before Ed was able to gain top position and close the round unloading punches. The second round picked up where the first ended with Herman landing punches and elbows but Maia was able to lock in a triangle choke that left Herman unconscious.

Herman gets his first KO!

Ed “Short Fuse” Herman got to avenge his 2004 loss against Joe “El Dirte” Doerkson Saturday night. The fight started with a few flurries before Herman was able to take it to the ground and impose his ground n’ pound style! Herman cut Doerkson early on and continued the punishment. Later in the second round Herman was caught in a deep triangle but was saved by the bell. Finally in the third round Herman threw a combination landing a flush left hook that dropped Doerkson for good. Just 0:39 seconds into the third round Herman would walk away with the victory and a knockout of the night bonus. With his third straight win Herman pushes himself to the top of the 185 lbs contender list.

Ed “Short Fuse” Herman continued his winning ways by submitting the very tough Scott Smith in their middleweight bout at UFC 72. Herman looked dominant with his ground and pound game, throwing some devastating shots to his opponent, including a bone-shattering elbow that opened a huge cut on Smith’s nose. The fight was allowed to continue, but in the second round, Herman took Smith’s back after a scramble and locked in a rear naked choke that forced Smith to tap out. This was Herman’s second straight Submission of the Night victory and places Herman in line with a very thick UFC Middleweight Division on his quest to become champion.

Ed Herman snapped the losing streak and made a big statement Thursday night! He submitted Chris “The Exorcist” Price with an arm bar at 2:58 of the first round! Ed came out of the gates strong and took the fight straight to Price. He controlled the action and almost sunk in a rear naked choke but ended up transitioning to the arm bar! Ed is very proud of the win and looks to make a strong push this year in the middleweight division!

MacDonald upsets "Short Fuse"!

Ed Herman was upset Tuesday night as UFC newcomer Jason MacDonald submitted him with a triangle choke. Both came out aggressive on the offensive but it was MacDonald who was able to take the upper hand midway through the first. Ed fought like a warrior to get out of the submission but it was just too much in the end. Ed is extremely disappointed about the loss but looks to get right back in the cage and put this loss behind him and focus on the future!
